Identify Market Problems

PictureMatthew Keuhlhorn Owner of Kooler Garage Doors. Garage Door Service Company in Colorado
Before starting Kooler Garage Doors, Matthew accumulated an extensive background in nonprofit work and trade skills that he still uses today.

One day Matthew found out his landlord was upset about contractors never calling her back. His landlord was desperately trying to find someone to do a simple job. Everyone she spoke with was not a man of their word. At this very moment, he had a lightbulb moment. Matthew said to himself, “I can call her back”.

After making a short proposal, Matthew landed his first exterior painting job. Shortly after he collected a down payment, took himself and his crew to the EPA Certified Lead-Based Paint, bought a sprayer, and filed his LLC documents with the Secretary of State.

As you can tell Matthew is a man of action. The moment he saw an opportunity he immediately went all in. Not only did he seize the opportunity to make some quick cash. Matthew realized customer service was missing in the marketplace and centered his business around providing it.

Matthews Company has evolved over the years however, his level of commitment and service for his clients remains the same.

Conclusion

Recognizing a problem you can solve is a great opportunity is key when starting a business. Matthew solved a problem in his marketplace that many others were experiencing. He then designed his business model around it.
