- Before we dive in, we are stating that this course is not financial advice. We are also not here to give any legal advice and we recommend that you do your own research in regard to taxes, setting up an LLC or DBA etc.
We are here to help you make money, just follow the steps and trust the process.
PART ONE: FINDING - POSTING & SELLING A PRODUCT - Getting started
When me and my wife got started with this, we knew we wanted to work for ourselves and gain more financial security, but we didn't have someone who laid out all the exact steps we needed to follow.
We designed this course for you, so that you can learn from our mistakes, and make the path to financial security smoother and faster!
This course will lead you to more financial freedom if you follow the exact steps that we lay out. Taking action is the name of the game! Follow each step and you will see an increase in your bank account.
What we teach here has been done worldwide for hundreds of years. Simply put, it’s buying something low and selling that same thing for a higher price.
Think about Walmart that buys its products in China and sells them to you. Or Amazon, or any clothing store and the list goes on and on. You get the point.
It’s all about the perceived value of a specific product. And about convenience, which people are willing to pay for, a lot.
But we are not here to dive into economic principles, but to make money, so let's get started!- Choosing a niche
Choosing a type of product that you will sell is crucial. We recommend picking one or two things to start with and see how it goes.
Maybe after a while you can add a few products but we recommend keeping your variety of products low.
It makes it easier to find the best deals, because those products will pop up in your marketplace feed. Also, it will make you an expert in that product.
If you decide on selling treadmills, you will know exactly what a good treadmill is, what a good deal is, what you can sell it for, etc. You will become the true expert in that ‘niche’. And people like that.
It becomes messy if you sell too many different things, it’s harder to keep track of everything, it’s harder to find deals because Facebook's algorithm will show you different products all the time.
So trust us and pick one or two niches to start with, master them, and then, maybe, if you really want to, add another product.
The more experience you get, the easier it will become (like with everything in life).
Just always think about these things when picking a niche:- Market population: How big is your area that you live in?
You bought this course so that means you live in an area of at least 50,000 people. We still believe you can make money using our system in a less dense population, but it will be slower.- Volume: Is there going to be a lot of people needing this?
-
Some products have a high volume, like washers and dryers. People need them all the time. If the volume is lower, it’s better to have a higher ticket product. - Ticket: Is my product a high ticket product?
You need to sell less if you have a high ticket product → Let’s say you sell antique chairs, and one chair goes for $1000. To reach $6k/ month you’ll only need to sell 6 chairs (just imagine you got the chairs for free) Let’s compare that with selling Yetis coolers. One Yeti goes for $150, so you’ll need to sell $40 Yetis in order to get to $6k/ month. (again supposing that you got all of them for free)
So whatever niche you choose, make sure that if the volume is lower and not so many people are looking for this specific product, the ticket of your product is higher.
We recommend picking a product with a higher volume, something that people will buy every day. This is because you will start to make those sales faster and get in the habit of posting and selling. You will make your first $1,000 before you even realize it!
You can add a product with a higher ticket as well, but bear in mind that it might take a little longer to sell. But when it finally sells, you’ll make a chunk of money all at once.
To give you an example, I’m going to tell you about my experience. It's completely fine if you copy our proven method, but maybe you have your own idea of a niche.
Me and my wife picked washers and dryers and fitness equipment to start with. We started to look for deals on Facebook and Offerup and dove straight into it.
We saw that washers and dryers are very consistent, people are looking for those all the time! Treadmills and other sporting goods can take a little longer to sell, but it’s worth the profit.
We stuck with our products (washer, dryers and treadmills) and became true experts in them.
Well, actually, I’m kind of overstating that because I do know how to install a washer and dryer very well, I don’t really know how to repair them (or I at least don’t have the time for it)
After a while (a few months) we started experimenting with other products, but within the same line, like ellipticals, weights, recumbent bikes, rowers and other sporting goods and fridges.
So picking a niche will be the first thing you’ll need to start with in this journey to $5K/month.
Here are some examples but please don't limit yourself to these.- Furniture
- Cabinets
- Weights
- Elliptical
- Treadmills
- Recumbent bikes
- Yetis
- Washer and dryer
- Fridges
- Antiques
- Plants
- Computers
- Cell phone holders
- Games
- Toys
- Baby stuff- clothes, strollers, …
- Clothing
- And the list goes on and on
- ....
First task
For you to be successful, you’ll need to follow the system and trust the process.
Your first task is going to be thinking about what you are going to sell, make a decision (you can always change it up later) and post your first product to get in the habit of posting.
What would I like to sell? Pick 2 products
Are these products high volume products? Do a lot of people need this?
Is my product a high ticket? What is the average price of my product? (Do a quick Facebook marketplace search for your product)
Find 5 different products that you might be interested in selling. Go over to Facebook Marketplace and type in each product so you get a feel for the market.
Now that you have decided on what product you are going to sell, I want you to make your first post.
You are going to pick something now that you are going to post.
It can be something that has nothing to do with your niche. You can pick a tshirt, a candle, a dog crate or whatever you have there that you can sell.
If you have posted something on FB before, great. Still trust and follow the process.
Go over the FB marketplace and post your item.
Congrats, you took the first action toward $5k/month!- Due Diligence
In order to find a great deal, you have to know the market value of your product that you’re after. Proper due diligence and research before going into a niche is important.
Knowing what you’re getting into and having the basic knowledge of a product will give you a step ahead to your competition.
Before picking a product that you will buy and sell, you must ask yourself- What is the average price for this product? What are people willing to pay for this product?
- Is this a high volume product?
- How many of these do I want to sell per week?
- How much am I willing to pay for this deal?
- (Set a maximum amount that you’ll pay something and stick with it→ My maximum price that I’m willing to pay for a treadmill is $150)
- Will the profit be worth it?
- Keeping it local or including shipping
Depending on what niche you chose, you are going to sell locally or include shipping.
We recommend including shipping when the product you sell is light and easily sendable. Think small plants, cell phone covers, computers, …
If you chose larger items, we strongly recommend not to include shipping.
Just sell locally, you’ll make plenty of sales!- Looking for deals
When you are going to look for deals on Facebook Marketplace or Offerup, there are a few things to keep in mind.
There are two main methods that we are going to teach you on how to look for deals. The keyword method and the recently added method.
Let’s take a look at the keyword method first. And as always, let’s take treadmills as an example.
Keyword Method
Go over to Facebook Marketplace
On Facebook, go over to the marketplace, and type in the keyword “TREADMILL”.
On Facebook, go over to the marketplace, and type in the keyword “TREADMILL”.
You then have to click on “LOCAL ONLY” (It would not make sense to see all the other treadmills 2000 miles away from you. That would definitely not be worth the drive…)
Chose “local only” option
You’ll now see the list of treadmills.
You’ll now see the list of treadmills.
List of treadmills show up
What is important when you look for a deal, is the time factor.
Money loves speed is a saying that is applicable to our process too.
Great deals won’t last long - Like 20 min at most an hour
Good deals are gone before you know it - Like in a few hours
Average deals you’ll find all day long - and stay on there for about a day
Bad deals are there to stay - avoid them like the pest!
There are of course always exemptions to the rules, but this gives you a good idea.
We want you to focus mainly on great and good deals.
So that means that you will have to look intensively for them and take action immediately!
Sometimes, but it's rather an exemption, you can find a good deal that has been on FB for more than 2 days. But the rule of thumb is, GREAT DEAL? ACT FAST!!
To find these great deals, we have a few hacks we’ll teach you.
Facebook's algorithms work in chaotic ways sometimes and the newly posted products will not always show up on the top.
So you’ll sift through the treadmills that you might feel are a great deal.
Click on the ones that you select.
In order to find a great deal, you have to know the market value of your product that you’re after. Proper due diligence and research before going into a niche is important.
You must ask yourself
Recently added method
Besides entering the keyword “treadmill” in the search bar on Facebook Marketplace, you can also scroll through your newsfeed.
What I like about that method a lot, is the “RECENTLY ADDED” section. There you can find great deals because they were just added a few minutes ago.
Also, if you are consistent in your searching for deals, and you focus mainly on 2 products that you are selling, Facebook will show those 2 products in the recently added section.
That way it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll find a good deal in no time!
Also the “TODAYS PICKS” can be a good section, especially if you stick with one or two products that you sell, since Facebook's algorithm will show things that you will likely buy. Let’s say that you focus on selling washers, dryers and treadmills. Then “today's picks” will almost always be one of those products.
**** Pro Tip*****
It might be tempting to scroll and click on other, non related items on the FB marketplace. But if you want to get the best results, only look and click on items that you are selling.
Again, Facebook's algorithm is pretty advanced and it will show other irrelevant items that you are not selling if you keep clicking on random stuff.
And then you might miss out on a great deal!
So FOCUS on only looking for what you are selling!
Refresh the page
Facebook will update all the time when people make a new post. It’s important that when you are looking for deals, to refresh the page.
That is so for both methods (the keyword method and the recently method)
So now that you know how to find good and great deals, you are going to learn to become more aware about your cost and profits.
Finding a great deal is awesome. Sometimes you can find a deal that is worth more than $600, and they are giving it away for free.
Other times a good deal can still be making you a profit of +$150.
I want you to become aware and document your journey. This course is meant to help you on your path to more financial freedom and that goes hand in hand with more responsibility. It would be ashame if you would spend your hard earned money on dumb stuff.
So, whatever niche you chose, you have to set limits on how much you are going to spend on one deal. You can write that down in a notebook if you wish. Try to stick with that limit price.
*** Pro Tip ***
Whenever you make a sale, put 10% of that sale in a special place. Can be a piggy bank or a purse or something.
The rest of the money that you make, you can use for groceries, bills, gas, and everyday expenses, but that 10% that you ‘put away’ you don't touch. LIke at all.
What you will see after a while is that that money is stacking up.
Whenever you reach $1,000 (that means that you’ve hit $10k!) you separate it in an envelope or something.
This money you can use for emergency funds, investments, mortgage, college funds,...
It’s a sad truth, but in school they don’t teach you stuff like this.
“Keep the poor poor and make the rich richer”.
Most of the population of America cannot save, spending their money immediately as their paycheck comes in, which keeps them from building up wealth.
But with this little hack, you’ll be well on your way to riches. Mark my words, those little bits add up!
How me and my wife do it….
We have a budget that we stick with if we find a good deal. For a great treadmill in excellent condition (Brand: NordicTrack, Proform, True, + commercial treadmills)
we would pay no more than $150.
We know that we can sell a treadmill like that for $350-$550+, if we include (free) delivery (more about that later!). So for us, a profit of $200 makes it worth it.
From that $200, 10% of that (=$20) goes directly into the purse (that's how we call it). I count the money every night that came in that day and I put $150 in my wallet for the next day.
We set a limit of spending $150 a day but to be transparent, we can very rarely exceed this limit if we find a great deal.
My wife documents all the sales we made, and our profit for that day (more on that later)
We stick with the budgets that we determined.
The prices that we pay for deals:
Washer and Dryers
Free - $100 → Washer and dryer - Ugly set
Free - $150 → Washer and dryer - Nice set - clean looking - top loaders (GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, …)
Free - $250 → washer and dryer - Nice set - Top loaders ( LG and Samsung)
Fridges
Free - $150 → side by side or french door fridge (best if stainless steel, but white or black is fine too) (Whirlpool, Samsung, GE, LG, Fridgeair, …)
Free - $250 → really nice looking french door fridge, no scratches, perfect condition. (LG, Samsung)
Treadmills
Free - $100 → any good working treadmills that inclines
Free - $ 175 → excellent condition treadmill, inclines. Brands: NordicTrack, Proform, True, Vision, …
Ellipticals
Free - $100 → any good looking elliptical that works
Weights
Free - $0,50 per pound
Sectionals
Free - $150 for a nice looking, clean sectional
*You can copy these limits, or set your own.
If you have different products than these, just go back to your due diligence sheet to help you determine your limits.
SECOND TASK
Make a list of the products that you will sell, write them down.
Next to them, set the limit price you are willing to pay for that product.
The price you will give your products must be in balance with the perceived market value.
Don’t price your products too high nor too low.
If you want to go through your stuff faster and make more sales, price your products accordingly.
If you are okay with waiting a little longer to make a sale, you can price your products a little higher.
*** Pro Tip ***
Don’t be greedy. There is enough money to be made following this process and it will pay off if you are not thinking in terms of scarcity. Try to shift your mindset to one of abundance.
Also, people ask for discounts all the time. I personally don’t mind at all. As a matter of fact, I even enjoy negotiating with them and I happily give a discount, because I help them, and I still make money.
EXAMPLE
How we price our deals:
Washer and Dryers
$255 - $275 → Washer and dryer - Ugly set
$295 - $395 → Washer and dryer - Nice set - clean looking - top loaders (GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, …)
$450 - $745 → washer and dryer - Nice set - Top loaders, mostly with pedestals ( LG and Samsung)
Fridges
$195 - $150 → side by side or french door fridge (best if stainless steel, but white or black is fine too) (Whirlpool, Samsung, GE, LG, Fridgeair, …)
$450 - $750 → really nice looking french door fridge, no scratches, perfect condition. (LG, Samsung)
Treadmills
$225 - $345 → any good working treadmills that inclines
$450 - $675 → excellent condition treadmill, inclines. Brands: NordicTrack, Proform, True, Vision, …
Ellipticals
$100 - $295 → any good looking elliptical that works
Weights
$1 per pound
Sectionals
$295- $ 600 for a nice looking, clean sectional

Sometimes it takes a few moments before FB to approve it but soon your product will be live!
Prepare to be messaging a lot. Not all conversations are going to lead to a sale. A lot of people (depending on what you are selling) are price shopping.
When you are looking for a deal, be sure to read the description. Let’s say you are looking for a treadmill and you find one, but the description says that the motor is broken, you of course don’t want to buy this.
When you message people, you can click on “is this available”, but make sure to always add something else, so the other person knows you are serious about it.
You can say something like: “I would like to buy this from you, what would be a convenient time for you to pick it up? Thanks!”
This will get the person to respond quicker to you, because being polite will separate you from the masses, which will get you the good deals!

- When you are selling a product
When you are selling a product, you will get a lot of “is this available?” which you can simply answer with YES.
After that you will see that only a small percentage will actually go through with the conversation.
There will be people who want to lower the price, and it’s up to you to negotiate, if you want to.
The goal of the conversation is to make the sale, always keep that in mind.
My wife does most of the selling and communication with the clients, and she stays pretty calm and patient when talking to people.
Sometimes they will ask many questions, and will indicate most of the times that they aren’t serious buyers. They are just looking (subconsciously) for a reason not to buy.
But nevertheless, you can still engage in conversation because there are always exceptions to the rules.
If the conversation is stagnant, you can always ask: “Can you let me know? If not, I'll go over to the next person.”
This method of scarcity helps people to make a decision faster.
If you offer delivery, be sure to ask if they are living on the first floor. Also, be sure to tell them your delivery price.
We charge $15 per floor and let them know ahead of time.
- Look out for scammers
When someone asks you for your phone number immediately, it is most likely a scam.
Just ignore this or block them.
Scammers work in a variety of ways, and they are getting more creative as the time passes by.
They will for example post a picture of a really good washer and dryer for a super good price, and will ask you to put a deposit for holding.
This putting down a deposit is normal, some people ask this for holding something for you, but scammers will ask for a deposit and then block you.
One good way to find out if someone is a scammer, is to click on their profile picture and go over to their profile. If you see that their profile is created in 2021, it’s like 99% certain a scam!
- Let the post rank - Leave the post up - Harvest the leads
When you are making a post, and many people comment on it, FB will rank it on the top page, so that even more people will see it.
Sometimes on a washer and dryer, we can get up to 30 messages in a day.
What we do is leave that post up, even when it sells.
People will keep asking if it’s available.
Tell them that you’ll let them know when you get a new set. (They appreciate that!)
When you get a new washer and dryer, you don't even have to post it but you’ll just go through our messages, and ask them if they are still looking for a set.
Quite often you will sell the set within an hour → When you pick up a new washer and dryer, you can take a quick picture of them from on your truck, and start messaging the people who were looking for a set.
Whenever someone answers, you can tell them that you can deliver it now, saving you time and making that quick and convenient sale!
And for the people who wanted the set, but reacted later, you can repeat the process. Tell them that it just got sold, that washers and dryers sell super fast these days (principle of scarcity) and that they will be the first to know when you get a new set.
- Including Delivery and Installation
A very good way to attract customers is to include delivery, and if applicable to your product, installation.
We always include this feature in our washers, dryers, treadmills and fridges.
Many of our clients don't have a truck, so it makes it hard for them to pick large items up.
They are oftentimes very grateful that we deliver it to them. On top of it all, we include installation of the washer and dryer and fridges.
When we make our post, let’s say for a washer and dryer, we make sure that the cover photo includes in big bright letters : “Delivery and Installation Available” so people know and we can attract our ideal client, that is, people without trucks willing to pay a little extra for us to bring it to them.
We charge $45 for delivery and installation.
- The people factor - Reviews
For some, dealing with people comes more naturally than for others. For my wife, that is the case. I can tell you, there will come times that you might feel slightly annoyed by the questions or the responses, but it is important to keep your calm.
Try to see everything as an exercise.
If you want to learn to throw a basketball in the loop, you might miss the first times you practice, but as you keep at it, you’ll score more often, and it even becomes predictable.
The same goes for our model.
You’ll get better at predicting who is going to buy and who is wasting your time etc.
Just try to stay patient with yourself and others and don't give up.
If you are more introverted, this will help you not only grow your bank account, but also will help you get out of your shell because you will have to interact with people.
Just always be friendly and helpful to the people that are buying from you, and everything will be alright!
Also, being friendly and helpful will result in good reviews, which is very important!
People often will go over to your profile to check out your reviews. We had many people tell us that they bought from us because they trusted the 5 star reviews on our profile.
To get a review, you will have to mark the product as sold, then FB will ask you to whom you sold it, then the person who bought it from you will get a review request from FB.
- Cleaning- sanitizing a product
When you buy a product, it might be a little dirty or dusty.
Of course you don't want to sell that to your clients, so you are going to have to clean it.
Don’t worry, it won’t take long to clean something, and it will make a better impression so the client will be happy with his purchase.
Our tip is to clean or dust off the product that you just bought before you even picture it.
People are way more likely to buy clean things!
If you clean it immediately, you won’t have to worry about it again, and your storage unit or garage also stays clean!
- Guarantees
Depending on what you sell, you might want to offer a guarantee. We offer a 30 day guarantee on washers and dryers, fridges and treadmills.
Offering guarantees often will make people buy faster from you.
It’s up to you if you want to include a guarantee but I highly recommend it.
You can include the guarantee in your product description or you can tell the people in your conversation.
If you offer a 30 day guarantee, and someone who bought a washer and dryer from you calls you within those 30 days and says that the washer went out, you have a few options.
- You can replace the washer with another washer you have (if you don't have a washer at the moment, make it a priority to find a good deal on a washer so you can help the person out ASAP)
- You can refund the money that the person paid, and pick the washer up (and resell it for $20-40 to a repair person).
- We recommend going for the first option, because the person most likely will still need a washer.
* If a client calls with a problem he/she is experiencing with a washer, dryer, fridge but it’s not within the 30 day warranty window, I would still help him/ her out.
I would give them some sort of discount on a replacement.
- Repairs - testing it out
When you buy a product that you will be reselling, you want to make sure that it's in great condition.
Depending on the product that you will be selling, you probably want to avoid doing repairs on it.
When we buy a washer and dryer, we always ask to test run them so that we are sure that they work.
Same for treadmills, we always test run them to almost full speed and put the incline on. When I see that the treadmill is in great condition, only the belt is a little loose, I would still buy it because it’s a very minor repair.
If we buy fridges it’s best if they are still plugged in so we can see them work.
When I get a client who’s washer or dryer he bought from me broke, I will replace it with another one (if it falls within the 30 day warranty).
The broken appliance I would sell to a repair person. You can charge $20-$40 for a washer/dryer and around $30-$70 for a fridge.
- Treadmills things to look for before buying
When you test out a treadmill, always let it go the full speed, and if you hear a loud sound coming from the motor, don’t buy it. The motor is the most important part of the treadmill, and if it makes a loud or a clicking noise, that's a sign it’s at the end of its life.
Oftentimes the belt might be slightly misaligned, but that's an easy fix.
- Refrigerators things to look for before buying
You want a fridge that works fully, water and ice dispenser included. If you see a great deal where a nice stainless steel fridge is offered for free, but water and ice maker don’t work, grab it of course. There are plenty of people who need just a garage fridge.
Oftentimes, when one thing doesn't work, it’s a sign that other things might go out as well in the near future.
- Washer and dryer things to look for before buying
When you test out washers and dryers, look for any leaks coming from the washer. Ideally you want to put it on a cycle, see it run and then let it drain.
For the dryer, turn it on, let it run for 10 seconds then open it and feel the inside. It must be warm.
- Scrapyard
If you have heavy items like washers, dryers, fridges, treadmills, etc that have been sitting and are broken, and you can’t seem to get rid of them, you can always go to the scrapyard.
You’ll get some money for it and you save space, making room for new products that will sell and make you some quick cash!
We try to combine a trip to the scrapyard with a pickup or delivery, so that we can save some time, as for us the scrapyard is about 25 miles away.
There are people, “scrappers” who just go around all day and collect metal, large items and make a decent living from it. If this resonates with you, you are more than welcome to try it out, however, this is not the route we are taking in our approach.
But, we wanted to mention the scrapyard as a ‘last resort’ for products that have been sitting and just taken up space in your garage or storage unit.
- Customer service
Customer service is extremely important in any business. In order for your business to run as smoothly as possible, you need great customer service.
Problems will occur in any business, it is unavoidable.
When problems come, you have to react appropriately to them.
Client satisfaction should be your goal, and you never want to leave a client hanging.
Practice having good customer service every day!
Sometimes it’s not the easiest thing to do, but it is for sure the right thing to do!
- The moral - Serve
We wanted to teach this model to you, because it will help you in acquiring more money that you’ll be able to save. But we also wanted to pass on the good ethics that you’ll hopefully apply in your business.
By now you know that you cannot let people hang and that when a problem occurs, it’s up to you to solve it.
Don’t try to cut corners, if you do this it will come back to you one way or the other.
Remember, when you give, you will get.
Practice a good moral character!
If you follow this business model, you’ll make plenty of money. But please, try to do it ethically.
Genuinely serve people.
